All the World's a Stage:
REED's WWW Links for Theatre History and Early Music:
3. Other Theatre Resources

Will Kemp

  1. One site that appears to provide something close to one-stop shopping is Justin's Theatre Links, an extremely rich resource, organised by subject, period, and genre.

  2. The Voice of the Shuttle, Drama Theater and Performance Art Studies section provides a mix of links for theatre history, modern theatre, performance practice, and other related topics.

  3. Two interesting costume resources are:
online colour plates from the 19th century German work The History of Costume by Braun and Schneider
    and The Elizabethan Costuming Page

  4. For classical drama in performance, visit Didaskalia: Ancient Theatre Today. This page is dedicated to information about modern performances of Greek and Roman drama, dance, and music.

  5. Theatron looks like it will be a rich guide to online architechtural and textual resources for European theatre history. Access to some parts of the site is by subscription -- this resource is partly funded by the European Union.

  6. Sometimes sites which began as teaching resources for students in a particular course turn out to have a broader range of interest. Here are some useful student-oriented resources --

    1. The Medieval English Play Cycles. The title is self-explanatory here!

    2. Stephen Reimer's Course Notes on Medieval and Early Modern Manuscript Studies.

    3. Baragona's Medieval Drama Page was designed for students in mediaeval drama courses at VMI, but will interest others as well.
